This complete Blues course is designed to provide you with great licks to learn play and enjoy. Blues can often be confined to a small number of popular keys which can sometimes overlook the use of open strings. These open strings in the lesser used keys can help create fresh and interesting sounds as well as opportunities for Blues compositions not always heard in mainstream blues songs and instrumentals. The idea here is to create a learning tool that not only increases your Blues playing vocabulary but also helps improve fretboard knowledge and awareness.
The system works like this. All twelve keys are used here and the five blues scale positions are utilized in each key. One lick per position is provided and taught for each key giving you five licks per key and a total of sixty licks in all. Each lick is also analyzed to give you an insight into how these licks are created and used.
Music and tablature is also available for all sixty licks. One backing track per key comes along with the package totalling twelve backing tracks to jam to and explore. Each lick is visually played to the track to provide a point of reference as to how the lick sounds in context. This DVD will extend your fretboard knowledge as well as providing fresh sounds and insights into the always expanding musical genre simply called “The Blues.” Enjoy!
