My whole goal with this video is find a creative way to use the more extreme modulation that can be had on analog delays like this. As I mentioned in the video, the Malekko 616 isn't the only delay that can do this. I previously did it on a Memory Man, and I'm sure similar settings can be dialed in on a Timeline, Timefactor and other analog modeled delays.
Delay pedal requirements for this sound:
1. Adjustable modulation
2. Ability to have a louder wet signal than dry signal
Settings:
1. High-ish modulation rate and depth
2. Minimal repeats
3. Longer repeat time
4. High repeat mix
I think this is a pretty cool sound, hopefully you can find a use for it in the music you make!
