In this performance video, Danny Gill plays through the first guitar solo in the Metallica track Master of Puppets. This solo was originally recorded by James Hetfield.

James Hetfield is predominantly known as Metallica's rhythm guitarist and singer. He is known for his fast downpicking riffs and relentless rhythm guitar style, but from time to time he plays a solo. His lead guitar style is more stripped back and less technical than Kirk Hammett. James Hetfield's approach is more traditional pentatonic based soloing in a blues rock style.

By learning this solo you will learn Hetfields approach to blues based phrasing, string bends, basic legato skills and some guitar harmony.
