You'll hear a short jam over a backing track from Tom Quayle's 51 Modern Legato Licks course designed to help you develop your phrasing and work on some of the legato licks shared in the course. It's a simple vamping around two chords, an A minor 7 and a D dominant 7, which are the two and the five chords in the key of G major. You can think of the home scale as Dorian, which is the second mode of G major.
Next, we'll move on to another track by Rick Graham, which is atmospheric and emotive, with a nice mixture of electronic elements and interesting chords. This track is straightforward, but there are so many cool opportunities to create some interesting solos.
