Please no more comments about downpicking this :). As I mentioned in the comments I had a section talking about how Hetfield and Hammett would actually play it with downstrokes but it had to be cut due to severe editing due to time limit. Either approach works, ( in fact you'll see I use a bit of all in the initial demo, alternate, consecutive downs and even some economy picking ) though you get that extra 'edge/agression' with all downstrokes.
