Here's another melodic idea but this time using D natural minor/Aeolian. I've put down the picking directions I use but of course feel free to pick it whichever way feels comfortable for you. Watch out for the fingering too :)

Recorded with my Fender Classic Player 60s strat going through a Victory V30 head with cab simulation from a AMT CP-100.
